Let me just say to begin with, that I absolutely love VGL! I attended the Louisville, KY concert last year, and was extremely excited to see that you all would be returning!

With that in mind, I was curious to see if the music played at the concert will be different then what was seen last year? A friend of mine who went with me was a bit skeptical about returning (as much as he also enjoyed the show) due to the fear that the concert would be identical to the previous one we saw in 2007. I am under the impression that the Louisville Orchestra would play a new set of songs to ensure that people like me would want to return, but he seemed to think this may not be the case.

I realize that each concert is unique from city to city, but does the music itself stay the same per city, each year (due to the Orchestra)? Is there anyone out there that has gone to consecutive concerts each year to the same venue?

I'd love to return to VGL come July, so I'm hoping to get a few answers that will convince him :)

Thanks so much!

Beyond a handful of additions (Halo 3, Chrono Cross, Outrun, Harry Potter) and removals (Advent Rising, Myst, Beyond Good & Evil, and probably some others) from the list, the selection of music between the two London shows was identical.

You're pretty much guaranteed One Winged Angel, all three Halo games, the arcade/retro segment, Martin Leung's Final Fantasy piano medley, Metal Gear Solid, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, Mario and Zelda. And the Space Invaders and Frogger things as well. The others change from place to place, but we didn't get Castlevania at either concert, curse them.

Oh, yeah, right. You wanted answers to convince your friend.

Well, I did prefer the second show overall. What was significantly different was the stellar lineup of guests and the improved quality of the performances. Even with so much repetition each show I'd still say it's worth it.

Thanks Swish!

When I went to the concert here in Louisville, some of the songs I remember especially were from Civilization, Kingdom Hearts, Sonic, One Winged Angel, Zelda and Halo. There also was of course the retro segment.

I would love to hear Chrono Cross...the music from that game is simply wonderful! Didn't have any Castlevania here either :(

I'm positive about going...the experience was so nice that anyway to have it again is good enough reason for me...at least now I know what to expect! (or at least, somewhat know what to expect)

I think a lot of new segments were added for this year's tour. There was no Chrono, Outrun, Myst, etc. but there was Metroid and Starcraft II.

Yo!,

Yep! Our show in Louisville will definitely be different than the one last year! Sure, we'll be playing classics like Mario, Zelda, Warcraft, FFVII, etc. (but with new and update videos and special fx) but you'll also be seeing things like Metroid, Castlevania, StarCraft II and a bunch of other surprises. We try to change the show about 40% - 50% each time we return.

Hope to see you and your friend there!
