I can't believe I didn't think of this one until now. I'd love to hear a medley of both the original and N64 game themes. They would sound awesome live.

They do sound awesome live, as you can hear for yourself here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGNDdLPJT9o), here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJFyOOzBLvg) and here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLmJipyI-0Q).

The show needs Star Fox. The game has strong music that sounds amazing when orchestrated.

(Star Fox 64) "Aquas": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWcDpvf57fA&feature=related (this would be awesome for the choir to chant)

there's definately a lot of material there to use. I would fully support this.

maybe...idk, the 64 was just the most amazing system ever. Maybe we need a nintendo 64 medly. put in the big ones, a little mario, zelda, then go on into all the other great titles, diddy kong racing, mario kart, starfox, golden eye 64, super smash bros..

That list is drifting away from medley and heading towards concert.

Besides, that "medley" (if it kept going) would require a multitude of different companies to approach for licensing.

Nintendo 64 Live? Hmm...

once again, vgl could totally put stuff together in multiple movements...maybe.
though thats not exactly reachable for some, and against some of the rock concert feel the event has.
nm, the problem is that there's too much good music out there, but some of it just cant stand up all the way on its own sometimes.

I sometimes wish that there was less of a rock concert feel. :p

Well, I could go for a NES Live...:)

A few people are talking about Star Fox. I believe is time to revive this thread.

I support these suggestions.

Me too. I love the the raw sound of a full, live orchestra. I personally don't want it diluted with electric guitar (except where it was used in the original track), excessive amplification (if you have a full orchestra, you don't have to do this), and prerecorded backing tracks (I experienced this at the show I went to - it was really sad to hear percussion when the percussionist wasn't doing anything).

Sadly, I'm pretty much alone in this. The show is designed to cater to gamers, not music lovers... :(

Anyway, I got the Smashing... Live! CD recently, and the great but limited Star Fox tracks on it made me wonder what else the series had that could transpose well to an orchestra. I took a listen on YouTube, and found plenty!

The original:

(The first and last were used in Smashing... Live!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuB1S_avUWw (A must have!)

(The first was used in Smashing... Live!)

I feel that there's an overall lack of Nintendo content in the show. It needs this! :0

VGL could really use some StarFox music !

The three parts of the ending would make a nice whole althogether (in this order) :

Just don't forget to play this short track after the main theme, just like in the game :

Sector Z:

There's also the more jazzy/rock tracks from the planets :

And most of the others have already been brought up by the others in this thread.(Corneria, Space Armada, etc)

I have to agree with you for all those points. I love when songs are reproduced the same as the original to the best of their ability. I also noticed prerecorded backing which turned me off quite a bit, but I really still enjoyed the show. The main highlight of my show in Toronto was the girl who sang and played the flute, her performance was exceptional.

Starfox is an easy pick for me as well. I would imagine 70-80% of gamers would agree.

I agree, star fox needs a slot!
