Let's hope the new game turns out good-great for him... "fingers-crossed"
Mario and Sonic's Awkward Reunion (http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1928753)
And just because the word "Reunion" is there doesn't mean that FF7 is in it. -Lame joke, I know.-
Actually this is a funny, sort of sad, video. I guess I would give this a T rating, but that sort of content makes up for maybe 1% of the whole video. I do not own this video!

Yeah, I miss Sega and Sonic. When I first started gaming when I was two or three I played Sonic on the Genesis. It really hits you when you realize Crash is dead now too. Hell even Master Chief is gone, now you play as a bunch of random people.

That was a horrible joke, but it made me laugh.
It's curious though, Dreamcast is still voted today as the best console that hit the market.
Once again, I'm sad they're quitting on a 3D Sonic. Sonic had it's sparkle in the 3rd dimension as well with SA and SA2.
About Crash, Naughty Dog should have sticked with it. The franchise had success and a big fan community and could have profitted much more. The newer games aren't all bad, but I miss the old days. Crash Twinsanity was quite quite good though, as for Nitro Kart.
I've recently bought Crash Bandicoot and Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped in the PSStore for my sis to play in the PSP. Those games, specially Crash 3, never get old.

They really don't get old. I loved those Crash games.

That's because they had that classic style that doesn't get boring. I loved SA and SA2. I was a Sega child, and the dreamcast was what I played over every other console that was out. I think I prefer 2D sonic though. He was good in 3D, but the 2D gives that time-less classic feel.

I'm not putting aside 2D Sonic, but SA and SA2 just gave that sensasion of speed and control that I think unprecedent in a 3D platform game. And the diversity of characters and game styles besides Sonic (and Shadow) just helped enrich them.
The gameplay was good, something that they shouldn't have changed, but insisted they insisted in messing around. Also they gave Sonic a more dynamic look, look they took back just after.
I never got the transition between SA2 and Sonic Heroes. People wanted more of SA and they just through it out in the window. SA and SA2 had good plots (considering they were created for kids), Sonic Heroes plot wasn't heven taken seriously in the development.
Then came Sonic the Hedgehog. Cool graphics indeed, but sacrificed gameplay for it. It was full of technical flaws and the speed sequences just made it ridiculously hard. Not the challendging type of hard, but the anoying type of hard.
Sonic Unleashed corrected that a bit, still with a few technical flaws, but they thought a slow brute hedgewolf (wrongly called werehog, as for were means human) would create more fun than a speedy hedgehog tredemark of the franchise...
I still think a 3D Sonic has great potential. And it makes me sad that market mistakes put further 3D games in the franchise aside.

The only flaws the Sonic Adventure games really had was a slightly mad camera, and sometimes Sonic/Shadow went a bit too fast, (and you'd end up accidentally killing yourself/ losing rings).
The second flaw may some of the bosses quite annoying to beat.
Oh and the Big levels, (PRETEND THEY DO NOT EXIST!! XD)
I think SEGA, (/Sonic Team) shouldn't be afraid of trying to make another 3D sonic game, but they should stick to a checklist like this:
Put in:
- Sonic Levels like the ones in SA2, that have both side branches, and vertical branches (in the sense you can go in several different routes)
- A better camera system (quite obvious that one!)
- Challenges (They add a hell of a lot more replay value)
- Achievements that are relatively tough to get (maybe a few secret ones as well would be nice)
- Tails (The chase levels out of SA are good, the mech ones, not so much. It would be very nice though, if they could make tails fly again, and give him proper levels designed for his flying!)
- Knuckles (I liked those levels. Though maybe they shoudl tone down on the cheesy music in them...)
- Shadow (he's okay, but don't give him guns, (unless you can make it work!))
- Rouge (One of Sonic Teams better designed characters)
- Eggman Robot (Robots are cool!)
- Eggman (preferably as just a villain, though I don't mind it if he had his own levels)
- Chao Garden & Minigames (I LOVE THEM! <3 Though it would be nice if they could make more minigames, and stick and possibly expand the SA2 stat system)
- An overworld that changes as the story goes along (I liked the overworld aspect of the game, it really made it feel like a proper adventure (Another example of a game that gets this right: Super Mario Sunshine! (I love Delfino Island!)).
- Levels that are minigames (keeps the overall experience fresh!)
-CHAOS! (Maybe make him a good guy that you get to play as. his unique abilities would be fun to play with!)
Avoid:
- Character designs that are too kiddy (I HATE CHIP!!!)
- Character designs that are exteme (mephiles and silver looked pretty silly)
- Stupid level names / place names
(make them seem relevant to the setting, but not all hammed up like they were in Sonic Unleashed and "the one that shall not be named")
- Bad camera/ sticky controls /loads of bugs
(These are experience spoilers, TEST! TEST! AND TEST SOME MORE!!)
- Supernatural (/fantasy) plots, (they just seem so awkwardly placed in sonics universe. The Echidnas /chaos is fine, as it ties into the general universe, but all that stuff about Dark Gaia just takes it a bit too far)
(I think the Sonic Adventure games got the levels just about right!)

Come on, you can't say that Perfect Chaos and the Tycal backstory wasn't cool. I liked much more Chaos than that giant lizard with a colossal canon stuck up his @##.
I liked playing with Eggman and Tails in SA2, but I recon some mix between tornado and stand-alone levels could be good for Tails. And yes, no guns nor vehicles for Shadow.
And give Crush 40 the main musical role back.
Also keep in mind that Sonic is aimed for kids, so it's natural to have kiddy characters.
I just aknowledge this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsnAV158nBw).
I can't comment much about it now, but I have my doubts about it.
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4O3w0SEuVM)'s some gameplay footage.

O_O
My goodness, this thread has certainly picked up from the last and original post.
I have my thoughts on the Sonic series, but I better wait to post that when I have a full day to think things over.
Don't forget don, that there's also Sonic Free Riders for the Xbox360 that uses Kinect.

lol
Take your time.
Yeah, but it's still a spin-off (or a spin-off sequel) and Kinect...
I just hope that Sonic Colors be compatible with the classic controller.

Yeah, they have plenty of room to fix. The series, and if they do I get the feeling they will get a huge boost in support and stock worth.
