Is sitting in the first row a really bad thing?

I plan on attending the Austin, TX show and the "Long Center" is where the show will be held. It’s not even open yet, so I would imagine that its top of the line and all the audio levels will be good no matter where you sit.

Should I try and get tickets further back or should I stick to first row? Anyone who has sat in the first few row please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

The thing about front row is that although it's great to be so close to the action, your neck might hurt from looking up the entire show. This is why I never sat in the front row at any given movie theatre! :P

I personally like just about the middle of the front row, like row J or something. That's where I sat when VGL came to Jones Hall and even Tommy himself agreed that they were rockin' seats.

Thanks for the reply! I will keep this in mind when I buy my tickets this weekend.
