Hello, first post etc.

I really think that the perfect video game soundtrack for performance on a live stage is the Shadow of the colossus OST. PLAY! did it, VGL should do it too :D . Im travellin from Ireland to go to the VGL concert in London, cant wait, i wonder if Phil Harrison is gonna be there?

Oh man, if he is I might slap the arrogant Peter Moore clone (seriously, they're virtually identical) round the face. In fact there are a few industry people I disdain stationed in the vicinity (that is, the country) who I might not be able to hold back from. Such is life when you're a young cynical designer.

Watch your back Molyneux with your backwards designs.

Shadow of the Colossus was also played at the Games Convention opening concert I attended. They played Epilogue ~ Those Who Remain.
It was gorgeous, but the Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra didn't really suit it. The string section was too small and underwhelming, and the tubular bells player failed to understand the meaning of the little "p" on his manuscript. In the absence of an Irish bouzouki, said instrument's part was put on the bells. It just didn't work out.

Basically I'm all for Colossus if there's a bouzouki on stage. Or they just play a bouzouki-less track.

A medley of the colossus battles would be amazing! Current favorite of the OST is A Despaire-filled Farewell

i find it odd how it was not considered since the shadow of the colossus has alot of orchestral merit, since it IS already an orchestral soundtrack

"Silence ~Battle with the Colossus~" is so haunting. I'm getting chills just thinking about it (regardless of the unnecessarily inclimate weather, haha). Include "Lakeside" as a short introit and you have a winner.

I also love the interplay that the flute has throughout the first five pieces of the soundtrack ("Prologue ~To the Ancient Land~", "Prohibited Art", "Commandment", "Black Blood", "Resurrection"). Perhaps a medley of those opening tracks would be appropriate as a feature for flute and orchestra.

And in regards to the bouzaki issues: perhaps have the harp and marimba / xylo play in unison? You get the lyricism and beauty of the harp with that pointiness that only the mallet percussion can elicit. Just a thought.

Medley Suggestions:
Medley 1: "Lakeside" -> "Silence ~Battle with the Colossus~"
Medley 2: First five tracks (mentioned above)
Medley 3: "Sign of the Colossus" -> "Grotesque Figures ~Battle with the Colossus~" -> "The Opened Way ~Battle with the Colossus~"
Medley 4: "A Violent Encounter ~Battle with the Colossus~" -> "Revived Power ~Battle with the Colossus~" -> "The End of the Battle" (so haunting!)
Medley 5: "A Closed-Off City" -> "Liberated Guardian ~Battle with the Colossus~"

Other Soundtrack Suggestions:
Sky Burial (moody and beautiful; and I'm a clarinetist, so naturally this would be a dream for me, haha)
Sanctuary
Epilogue ~Those Who Remain~ (of course, haha)
Hope (so poignant, and I just love the transition from fear to hope)

I have to back Shadow of the Colossus. If you made only one addition to your games list this year, I would be happy if that one were Shadow of the Colossus.

Apparently Tommy said Chrono will show up at Brazil this Sept. So I'm hoping by the end of March next year when I go that SotC will be in the lineup.
