Still not too sure what I'm supposed to do about the VIP tickets (the ones I got - nice seats it appears).

Oh, it is so sweet to see a, what was a n00by, transform into a thing of VGL Veteran! With these 2 shows now under your belt, you will live up to the great forum names of Songbird, DancingFlameDragon, Swish, Myrph, Terraguy (who has been absent for a long period of time), and ... well, General_mee, and ... I can finally say this now ... Worf, you are included!

Well, Halo sealed the deal for me - I still can't believe the timing *annoyed*.

And 2 shows makes you a veteran now? Wow. Then again, there are a few people who dropped off the radar a few weeks after the Vancouver show in April last year...

I actually haven't gotten the video I recorded from VGL2011 off the camcorder yet...

Heh.

I hope the Halo segment is impressive, after all, I'm giving up valuable Halo 4 time for VGL!

Shoot, I need to get more camcorder batteries. That's what I hated last time with the borrowed company camcorder (which I haven't returned yet :P) - damn battery only lasted an hour, so I have to be careful what I record. Storage I have plenty for hours. Battery, not so much...

Regarding the cam-corder, they must have changed their rule on cameras, because apparently you can't (on the tickets, and after phoning them, too). I got some decent tickets and was really hoping to bring an HD camera and REALLY WANTED TO RECORD METROID! After phoning them, even if the concert allows it you can't (especially considering I have a seat right by the walk-ways, there's just no way I could get away with it).

I'll still bust out my Ipod to record some Metroid, and because I doubt they're doing FVII:OWA, I doubt I'll be recording anything else (maybe Earthworm Jim, but that's it).

That sucks.

Then again, last year the Center for the Performing Arts had the same rule as well... so there's a chance. If not, smuggle one in.

I've heard from a friend who's in the symphony, that the Orpheum does not allow recording of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and that; because VGL uses a local group of Freelance Musicians, they wouldn't really care.

But, that's also an issue. My friend says that things are up in the air about which symphony is going to be used for the show (the VSO gets a little upset about orchestras using their theatre without them being used instead).

It's really a game of chance as far as the recordings go. I hope to god that they'll choose the local musicians, because I really want to keep Metroid for old times sake.

Honestly, 99.99% of all shows that are shown in these theatres prohibit all sorts of photography and recording. That's why they have the rule in place in general - the vast majority of shows don't allow any recording at all. VGL is probably the lone exception in everything that gets played.

As for VSO - I don't believe the VSO is there - it's not on the VSO schedule - http://www.vancouversymphony.ca/calendar/2012/11/. Considering they have other shows they're doing, I'm guessing they won't be it.

You can bet once we enter the VGL concourse all the cameras will come out during the pre-show stuff so if they immediately announce an end to it then it'll be prohibited. If not, I say it's a free for all.
