Total Annihilation, a groundbreaking real-time strategy game in the late 90s, sported one of the best musical scores in any video game I've ever played. Composed by Jeremy Soule (Elder Scrols, Guild Wars, & Neverwinter Nights), the music seamlessly went from ambient building music to powerful, sweeping battle scores whenever the player engaged in battle. Although short (each piece ~3-4 minutes long), there are 4-6 pieces from which VGL can chose.
