Probably a familiar face for all the people who aren't familiar with VGL but whom people can trust to give an honest and positive opinion so that people who may have otherwise not watched might give it a go, at least for the start of the show.

I must admit though, it was a bit of a shock for me when I watched it too.

Well, after seeing that trailer, I'll gladly overpay for the BD and the CD to get it earlier from PBS...

...when they show stuff like this, I'm more than happy to support them...

Yes. You are correct.

Keep in mind that tens of millions of non-gaming mom's (a big demographic of PBS) will be watching this show. Jamie Lee Curtis is just like them and someone they would not expect to be so into games. Having someone amazing and legitimate and a true game music fan talking up VGL was a fantastic thing for us, PBS and the industy.

She will definitely help to convince the parents out there that video games and their music are great! I'll be putting an extended interview with her on the DVD/Blu-Ray. I was actually the one who was interviewing her and she was one of the nicest Hollywood people I've ever met (and I've met and worked with quite a few). It was weird that she actually knew who I was and starting explaining a bit of my career to her publicist. So cool! My dad was there and is a big fan of Jamie Lee so it was a special moment for me. She's awesome!

Awesome. Why wouldn't you want Jamie? She stood up against Michael Myers

I was kinda of surprised too. I didn't know that she was a gamer at heart!

(Then again, a lot of actors and actresses strike me the same way.)

I still find this interview with Vin Diesel discussing with Jonathan Ross his love of World of Warcraft and his experience playing Dungeons and Dragons. I guess if you dedicate your life to portraying fantasy characters, you'd probably enjoy playing as fantasy characters as well!

She genuinely is a fan? Hmm, I thought she was doing her job; acting. :P

It would be easier and more convincing to get someone who was a fan of the show and of the premise in general to do something like this, rather than just to find someone who can act it, because it will seem more believable and will do a better job of convincing more people to consider it, where that wouldn't be as strongly the case if the person saying it didn't completely believe in it.

You mean like these guys in the World of Warcraft commercials?

Mr. T
William Shatner
Verne Troyer
Ozzy Osbourne - He does curse, but there beeped out.

Other than the trailer, the only other time I recall seeing her is in a yogurt commercial...

I hope so, otherwise my dreams of them working together as a clan are shattered...
