Minneapolis Review!
Wed Jan 12, 2011, 10:47 am
Are Video Games Art?
by Tad Simons
"Video Games Live, which made an appearance at Orchestra Hall last Friday night, is a technically impressive, frequently hilarious, ultimately mind-bending event in which the Minnesota Orchestra plays the music of various popular video games while a carnival of gaming nostalgia, inside jokes, video projectors, and a full-blown rock concert swirl around it. The result is an energetic din of old and new technologies..."
"VGL is a hybrid form of entertainment that perfectly captures the cultural ambivalence of the early 21st century."

TOMMY TALLARICO'S PETA2 CAMPAIGN
IS A 1-UP FOR ANIMALS
Video Games Live Founder Stars in Vegan Testimonial
Los Angeles — Video game composer Tommy Tallarico is proud to say that his vegan diet has given him an extra life. That's why the Video Games Live founder has teamed up with peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights group, for a brand-new vegan testimonial print public service announcement in which he proclaims, "I'm Tommy Tallarico, and I'm vegan."
Tallarico, who has worked on more than 275 games and received more than 45 industry awards, also sat down for an exclusive peta2 interview in which he discussed the many reasons he chose to go vegan. "I've always loved animals, and there was always something that just kind of felt wrong about eating meat," says Tallarico. "Hundreds of millions of animals are being slaughtered! And the hormones and the drugs and the chemicals that they unnaturally pump into these animals—they can't even stand and walk, and they're brutally murdered."
He adds, "My best advice for young people is to go out and do your own research. I wish I had the information and everything that I knew now, I wish I had when I was a teenager. If that was the case, I would have been a vegan, vegetarian, you know, since the time I was a young kid."

Video Games Live Update
Tue Nov 29, 2005, 7:19 pm
We have been working extremely hard since our Seattle and Vancouver dates to get Video Games Live back on track for 2006. We already have a new plan in place (which we have full control of) and have started booking shows for the upcoming year.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we go through this important transition. Although we got off to a somewhat rocky start, we were still able to put on the biggest video game concert the world had ever seen in July at the Hollywood Bowl. One of our goals in 2006 is to break that record as well as bringing the VGL experience to as many people as possible. We were also very proud to perform the first ever video game concert in the country of Canada.
Below is some current information we felt people might be interested in.
Thank you,
Tommy & Jack
